Broadlawn Manor’s Social Adult Day Center provides an exciting full day of socialization, emotional support and fun activities for senior adults in a safe and comfortable environment. The program benefits participants by enhancing their self-esteem, wellbeing and dignity, while providing respite and peace of mind for caretakers.

The Social Adult Day Center’s approach to the care of each participant centers on the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of professionals — each with the expertise and special training necessary for senior adults. The team includes social workers, recreation specialists, certified nursing attendants, psychiatrists and psychologists, and is supplemented by a group of dedicated volunteers from within the community.

Participation in the program’s many daily activities is encouraged. The activities are designed to enrich the lives of senior adults through social interaction, mental stimulation, creativity, expression, satisfaction and fun. Examples of some of the activities available include:

• Gardening
• Music
• Games
• Pet Therapy
• Arts and Crafts
• Walking
• Exercises
• Reminiscence Groups
• Cooking

Nutritious choices are offered for continental breakfast, hot lunch and daily snacks. If necessary, each participant’s medication can be monitored and dispensed as prescribed.

Enrollment into the Social Adult Day Center is simple, and a complimentary trial day is available to demonstrate the tremendous value of the program.

The program operates Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, and participants can attend any number of days per week. Door-through-door transportation is available for a nominal fee within the catchment area for those unable to make their own arrangements.
